Understanding with a close look, volunteering as not working for free but working for experience. You can’t put a price on that. Some thing every one should try. Volunteering has a meaningful, positive impact on your community. But did you know that it can have many benefits for you too? Here are some reasons to volunteer:

Learn or develop a new skill

Volunteering is the perfect vehicle to discover something you are really good at and develop a new skill. As Mahatma Gandhi said, “Live as if you were to die tomorrow.  Learn as if you were to live forever. My life is my message” In fact he lived exactly as he said in every sphere of life. To conquer untruth with truth, hatred with love, violence with non-violence – this was his mission of life, this was his message. It is never too late to learn new skills and no reason why you should stop adding to your knowledge just because you are in employment or have finished education. Be part of your community No man or woman is an island. We sometimes take for granted the community that we live in. People and societies co-depend on each other for survival but growth of such things as commercialism are seeing traditional values being disregarded. Communities are suffering due to the growth of secular societies but at the same time we can really bridge that expanding gap through volunteering. Volunteering is ultimately about helping others and having an impact on people’s wellbeing. What better way is there to connect with your community and give a little back? As a volunteer, you certainly return to society some of the benefits that society gives you. Now, we are living in this great global village where all must have a place. There should be no distinction between the high and low; the whole world should be free from the poison of untouchability and drunkenness; man and woman should have equal rights.  A certain Arab scholar has remarked, “ the rich say that the most difficult thing in the world is to earn money, but according to the wise the hardest thing is to acquire charity” the question now is, who are right. – the rich or wise? “Somebody said “I am a seeker after wise; so it is difficult for me to be impartial”

Motivation and sense of achievement. Fundamentally, volunteering is about giving your time, energy and skills freely.  Unlike many things in life there is choice involved in volunteering. As a volunteer you have made a decision to help on your own accord, free from pressure to act from others.  Volunteers predominantly express a sense of achievement and motivation, and this is ultimately generated from your desire and enthusiasm to help. Sometimes volunteers are regarded as do-gooders and those that hold that view also assume that one person can never make a difference. It may be true that no one person can solve all the world’s problems, but what you can do is make that little corner of the world where you live just that little bit better.

Boost yourself

Also, if you are thinking of a career change then volunteering is a perfect way to explore new fields. If you have a passion for the arts but have career in computing then why not volunteer at your local theatre? Or if your ambitions are to be a doctor or teacher why not find out about volunteer opportunities at hospital or school – the ideal way to expand your work portfolio in your field and to gain a real insight into your chosen path.

Experience is the best teacher.

We learn from different methods. One, the method of gaining knowledge by doing something on our own; the other is the method of receiving instructions from someone else. The knowledge acquired by the first method is much more lasting than the same gained through instructions. For learning through instructions we are to strain our nerves are brains to remember and recapitulate the lessons. But the lessons learnt through self- experience are more easily grasped.  Volunteering will help you to gain to understand the people from far and will makes you more perfect to be a part of this global village. Thus is rightly said that experience is the best teacher. 1st hand experience will uphold your quality to stand upright in all condition of your service or business life.

New interests and hobbies

Sometimes we do get locked into the “rat-race” of life and volunteering can give that escape to everyday routine and create a balance in our lives. Finding new interests and hobbies through volunteering can be fun, relaxing and energizing. The energy and sense of fulfilment can carry over to a work situation and sometimes helps to relieve tensions and foster new perspectives for old situations. Sometimes a volunteer experience can lead you to something you never even thought about or help you discover a hobby or interest you were unaware of. You can strengthen your personal/professional mission and vision by exploring opportunities and expanding your horizons.  Sirena Primary School always opens a new volunteer activities for development the possibility in life and all it’s start with the small children. In one of our old Sanskrit books there is a verse which can be translated as follows :  “ For the many sacrifices the individual, for the community the family, for the country the community, and for the soul the whole world”. The lesson that this Sanskrit verse teaches us is the lesson of cooperation and sacrifice for the larger good. We in this world had forgotten this sovereign path to real greatness for many a day, and so we had fallen. But again we seem to have glimpses of it, and the whole world is astir. How wonderful it is to see men and women, and boys and girls, similingly going ahead in world’s cause and not caring about any pain or suffering. Well may they smile and be glad, for the joy of serving in a great cause is theirs. To free  whole World is a great thing but even greater is the cause of humanity itself. And because we feel that our struggle is a part of the great human struggle to end suffering and misery, we can rejoice that we are doing our bit to help the progress the world.

How can we cope in a world of RAPID CHANGE?  And “Turmoil”..

Do you feel bombarded with change from every direction? Do you feel stressed, overworked, with too little time to appreciate and enjoy life? Do you find it difficult to keep up with everything you need to do? If so, you’re not alone. Our rapidly changing world is rapidly stressing us out. What can we do to cope?  It all underscores a vital point : while our world has always experienced change, the rate of change is speeding up. Many historians, sociologists and journalists have expressed concern in recent years about the rapid change in our world. They tell us that today’s world is changing at an accelerated rate, unlike anything past generations witnessed. There’s a case to be made that with the internet and communication technology spreading around the world, it has really upset a lot of social patterns. Seven kinds of stress – producing changes:- Today we see at least five major kinds of changes that are causing a great deal of stress and anxiety. Most of these changes are directly related to the digital revolution and have only become problems in the last 10 to 20 years. Some of the other changes have been occurring for a couple of generations now but have been exacerbated in recent years by technology. All of these issues have played a significant role in making our era different from all those that preceded it. What are these five areas of change and how are they impacting our society, institutions and world? 1. The pace of life is speeding up. 2. We are busier than ever. 3. Life is more complicated. 4. Families are structured and function differently. 5. “Traditional” beliefs and values are being challenged.   This are the subjects which need to understand carefully. Often in an attempt to get more done, we multitask – trying to do two or three things at the same time.  How can we deal with information Overload?  Efforts to cope with the uncertain quality of our information supply and conflicting “facts” can result in information anxiety, fatigue and confusion.  SO IT’S VITAL THAT WE HAVE FREQUENT TIME TO GET OUT TO BE VOLUNTEER WITH A  SMALL CHILDREN AT A RURAL VILLAGE AND KEEP RECHARGE AGAIN.

New experiences

Volunteering is a brilliant way to get life experience. Whether you build a library or mail flyers to raise awareness for a local charity, you will experience the real world through hands-on work. This guide section has established that volunteers can do almost anything and with the new millennium has dawned an era of infinite volunteer opportunities. For example, it is possible to volunteer in developing countries and see the direct impact of your actions on some of the most vulnerable people of the world. You could skydive for charity, a chance to experience the ultimate thrill and raise funds to help the charity continue its work.

Meeting a diverse range of people

Volunteering brings together a diverse range of people from all backgrounds and walks of life. Both the recipients of your volunteer efforts and your co-workers can be a rich source of inspiration and an excellent way to develop your interpersonal skills.  Volunteering also offers an incredible networking opportunity. Not only will you develop lasting personal and professional relationships but it is also a great way to learn about people from all walks of life, different environments, and new industries. Networking is an exciting benefit of volunteering and you can never tell who you will meet or what new information you will learn and what impact this could have on your life.
Send a signal to your employer, teachers, friends and family…
People pay attention to your life outside the environment in which they have direct contact with you. For example, your employer would be interested in the activities that gives you a good work-life balance, just as academic institutions are interested in your extra-curricular activities. Volunteering reflects and supports a complete picture of you, and gives real examples of your commitment, dedication and interests. Show people what you are passionate about and maybe you will inspire them too!

How to make the world a better place to live in.

If nations try to understand one another, they will surely come to like one another. Each will then profit by the good points in others, all international rivalry will disappear and there will be peace and happiness in the world. This is the volunteering all about.
